Sizing for Soft Wheel Setups

Part 1: Adjusting for wheel shape

Most soft wheels widen a setup's the track width compared to hard wheels, which are typically shorter and narrower. In order to match setup's your track width with your board's widest point, select one size lower than is recommended by the manufacturer.

Part 2: Adjusting for ride feel

A slightly under-sized track width supports safer pushing, faster turning, easier drifting and reduces the risk of wheelbite. While many folks follow the practice common to hard wheel setups of matching their trucks' axle ends with the maximum width of their board, we recommend going one additional size lower than the initial adjustment for soft wheels, such that your track width is about 1/4" narrower than your deck.
