Comet Skateboards is the leading manufacturer of high performance green composite skateboards. We use a unique blend of regionally sourced materials that result in strong, light skateboards. By purchasing our raw materials regionally, we contribute to a vibrant local living economy and do not create excess pollution by shipping materials all over the world. All Comet skateboards are powered by proprietary high-performance e2e biocomposite technology (patents pending), provided by the innovative Ithaca-based company e2e Materials. Comet Skateboards has exclusive use of e2e biocomposites for skateboards. Our skateboards are made with paints and adhesives that do not off-gas harmful chemicals. Comet skateboards last as long and in many cases longer than any skateboard on the market and when they have been shredded to the end they will safely turn back into fertile dirt. Since our materials are ecologically safe, our scraps can fertilize gardens, heat homes, make banging bonfires, serve as media for works of art, etc.

That's why we're committed to putting the best materials into our decks, so you can expect high performance and you can ride knowing that your purchase was not a vote for deforestation, for poor labor practices abroad, for excessive materials transportation and fossil fuel consumption, for the use of formaldehyde and other human carcinogens, or for the status quo of current industry. (click for more info)	Waste Management When you ride a skateboard, do you ever think, "Damn... this company's got some killer waste management practices." Probably not. Neither do we. But when we're producing skateboards, waste management is key. Below is a shot of us chipping our scraps for composting. This doesn't change your ride or save us money. Proper waste management is just something that a company elects to do out of a sense of commitment to sustainability and community.	Social Responsibility The beautiful thing about sustainability and community is how interdependent the two concepts are. When you source your materials locally, you invest in local job creation and the local economy. When you investigate how best to dispose of your waste, you meet all sorts of beautiful people who play unique and important roles in the community.
